Bayern Munich have secured their place at the top of the Bundesliga with a resounding 5-0 victory over VfL Bochum on Saturday evening. The match was dominated by Harry Kane's hat-trick as Bayern scored five goals in total. The English striker opened the scoring for his side in the opening minute of the game with a powerful header from a cross. Kane then doubled Bayern's lead four minutes later when he latched onto a through ball and beat the goalkeeper with a left-footed shot from outside the box. Kane completed his hat-trick just before half-time after another well-taken goal. The striker received the ball in the penalty area and calmly placed it into the bottom corner to make it 3-0. Bochum had no answer for the rest of the first half and were reduced to ten men shortly after halftime when defender Jannik Vestergaard was sent off for a second bookable offence. However, Bayern did not let up and continued to dominate possession and create chances. Sané and Marcus Thuram also found the net for Bayern in the second half, but it was Kane's hat-trick that sealed the win. The striker has been in sensational form this season and has already scored 14 goals in all competitions. With this victory, Bayern Munich moved three points clear at the top of the table and remain unbeaten in their last eight games. They will be looking to maintain their dominance in the league against Werder Bremen next week. |
