Cangzhou, the capital city of Hebei Province in East China's North China Plain, defeated Chinese Super League (CSL) side Jiangsu Suning 2-1 in their first league game on Saturday.

The match was played at Cangzhou Stadium and saw Cangzhou take an early lead through a goal from midfielder Zhou Zhenbo before Jiangsu levelled the score with a goal from forward Zhang Guoliu. However, Cangzhou were able to secure victory thanks to a late equalizer from defender Li Shengyong.

Zhou, who scored the first goal for Cangzhou, said that they had worked hard during training and it showed in their performance on the field. "We've been preparing well for this game and we're happy with our performance today," he said.

Jiangsu, meanwhile, coach Jorg Steiner said that his team will need to improve if they want to compete in the CSL. "It was a good start but we still have a lot of work to do," he said. "We'll focus on improving our tactics and making sure we play better as a team."

Cangzhou manager Wang Wei said that the win was a big step forward for his team. "We knew it would be tough against a strong opponent like Jiangsu but we came out with great determination and fought until the end," he said. "I'm proud of my players and I'm looking forward to seeing them grow and develop further."
